Born and raised in Vancouver, BC Canada, Dr. Penelope Lam graduated with a Bachelor of Science from the University of British Columbia before receiving her Doctorate from the Northwestern University in Chicago. Dr. Lam excelled in her clinical requirements where she finished early and was immediately hired by the Advanced Education in General Dentistry department of Northwestern University until graduation.

She is dedicated to advance, postdoctoral study and provides her patients with a gentle, caring, comprehensive approach to oral health. Dr. Lam has also had advanced training in creating CEREC restorations, which means we can have a crown made for you in just one appointment! With Dr. Lam, as well as all our dentists here at Modern Family Dental, oral cancer screening is part of all routine checkups. She believes that dental care starts with prevention and is not just limited to teeth but the entire body as a whole as many illnesses can show signs in the mouth.

Married with two daughters and a sweet Labradoodle named Chip, Dr. Lam definitely always has something to keep her busy! When she isn't practicing dentistry she enjoys running, crafting, traveling, keeping up with her busy family, and spending time with friends.
